Beanie Sigel & Jay-Z - Glock Nines (Ratatat Remix)

Well it doesn't look like Ratatat's going anywhere. Last summer, I couldn't go a day without someone in my apartment building blasting Classics (far from a complaint) and it looks like the second volume of Ratatat's Remixes series will be taking that very same spot this year.

Of the many great tracks on the album, some of which rank among the groups best work, this remix of a song that doesn't really exist in the first place makes a strong contender for the top honor. The verses come from two different songs, T.I.'s "2 Glock Nines" and Jay-Z's "The Watcher 2", but the Ratatat concocted backsounds weave them together into a classic era Roca-a-fella ditty. It's a celebratory track with one of those "we made it" feelings in every synth-organ grind, so don't be surprised if you find yourself shaking off your summertime burdens on the dancefloor (or more likely your friend's roof).

niiice. I'm pretty unfamiliar with these guys (I think the album cover made me shrug it off), but I'm totally excited about this album now. PLUS - a remix of Ghost/Jada's 'Run', wow!
